Addiel Gomez is the broadcast coordinator and adviser for Owl TV at Florida Atlantic University. In that capacity, he advises the Owl TV station manager on creating and implementing new strategies for content and development of the Owl TV brand across all platforms (TV, Internet and Social Media). During his career as a television and radio journalist, Mr. Gomez has worked as a reporter, anchor and producer for Univision, Telemundo and NBC in Orlando, Tampa and South Florida. Mr. Gomez received his B.A. in Multimedia Journalism from Florida Atlantic University and his M.A. in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of Iowa. He says he's "excited to be back at FAU, working with a great group of students who are as passionate about broadcasting as he is."
Tyler Tipton became the Station Manager at Owl TV in July 2013. He has been involved with Owl TV since 2012. Most of his involvement has been on Owl TV’s sports show “The Blue Wave” where he and Sports Director Taylor Stewart have been hosts for the last two years. Planning to graduate in 2015, Tyler looks to become a sportscaster at a TV station in the future.
Taylor Stewart is a Multi media Journalism major with a minor in Sociology. She currently is the Sports Director at Owl TV and previously worked with Owl TV news. After graduation she plans pursuing a career in broadcasting. Taylor hopes to help take Owl TV to new heights and be a part of leaving a legacy for future multi media students at Florida Atlantic.
Nikki Ullmayer is a senior studying multimedia journalism. As Programming Director she is in charge of all programming that goes on the air. During her time at OwlTV she has held several positions including News Director. Through her work at OwlTV she has obtained two internships, one at Clear Channel and one at CBS 12. Her goal is to work at a TV reporter and work her way to CNN.
Marcus Rivero is the current station engineer. He has been involved with Owl Tv for 2 years. He is an exercise science major and is also heavily involved with the U.S Army Reserve and Army ROTC.
Hi, My name is William Reams, Billy for short. I have been a production coordinator for OwlTv since spring semester of 2013. I am currently a junior seeking a BA degree in mathematics. I have worked on productions for OwlTv's news, sports, music, and restaurant programing. I am always excited to discuss new programs, and provide the student body with information about OwlTv. Camila Barco is working as the office manager for Owl TV. Currently a sophomore, criminal justice major and communications minor. Starting out as a volunteer, she has covered news, sports and advanced on her editing skills. Reporting and editing has always been a passion, and she hopes to soon work for news stations.
Betsy Badell is a double-major in Multimedia Journalism and Political Science. She worked her way up from being a volunteer news reporter to office manager, and finally to Owl TV's news director. Betsy worked as news reporter for "Broward Teen News" in 2005 and was a production and public relations intern for "School Duel" at BECON TV in 2011. With her experience and knowledge, Betsy hopes to provide Owl TV viewers with objective and informative news. She also hopes to provide volunteers with the best possible professional experience to take Owl TV to the next level and leave a good path for future owls to follow.
Cyrus Smith Gathers is the Production Coordinator at Owl TV. Currently a junior, Cyrus majors in Multimedia & Journalism with a minor in English.
Anita P. Garbett is an FAU senior from Miami, FL double majoring in Film & Multimedia Studies and Sociology, minoring in Theatre & Dance. She is the acting Business Manager at Owl TV and has been an avid member of 14+ organizations. Her dream is to become a Sports Videographer for an NFL Production Team or attain an athletics media Directorship on the collegiate level.
Mike Merson is a Production Coordinator for OwlTV and oversees the program FAU Studio Sessions, which focuses on FAU musicians and their talents. He started volunteering at OwlTV in late 2012 and has since been brought on to the primary staff. He dual majors in Multimedia Studies and English with a minor in Philosophy, and is in his senior year. His specialties are video editing and scriptwriting, but he isn't scared to get behind a camera either. He ultimately wants to work in the motion picture industry, either as a director/producer or writer.
